  1. Fixed a bug that caused the data logger to stop uploading data periodically. This halt in uploading was caused by a PING message sent by some routers.
  2. Changed data upload format to reduce upload bandwidth to the server and fix missing high/low data.
  3. Added support for 2 DNS servers in dynamic IP address mode. If the data logger cannot successfully resolve the WL.com name through the two given DNS servers it will try with the Google public DNS at address 8.8.8.8.Config page always displays the 1st DNS server even if it is using the Google public DNS server.

  1. Further improved reliability of sending archive data to the WeatherLink.com server when packets are fragmented by certain ISPs.
  2. Improved reliability when changing settings in the datalogger configuration page.
  3. Datalogger configuration page now does not allow setting port 80 for communication.

  5. Added a watchdog reset timer.
  6. Modified ARP so that when the IP address is temporarily changed, the gateway is bypassed.
  7. Fixed a problem when DNS only returns a valid name address but not an IP address.

Vantage Pro2 Cabled Console Firmware, Direct PC Install

IMPORTANT! This firmware is only for Cabled Vantage Pro2 Consoles manufactured April 2006 or later (product code of #6312C. This will not work on a 6312 Wireless Console). The Inside Temp, Inside Hum, and Barometer readings will not appear if version 3.80 firmware is installed on consoles manufactured before April 2006.

  1. CWOP uploads will now contain 2 min average wind speed, 10 min wind gust and direction of gust, last 15 minutes of rain, last 1 hour of rain and Altimeter. Must also have WeatherLink software v5.9.0 or later to use this feature.
  2. Fixed a bug that caused the barometer value to have a large error after updating to firmware version 1.82

Weather Envoy Cabled Firmware, Direct PC Install

IMPORTANT! This firmware is only for the Cabled Weather Envoy manufactured April 2006 or later (product code of # 6316C. This will NOT work on a 6316). The Inside Temp, Inside Hum, and Barometer readings will not appear if version 3.15 firmware is installed on consoles manufactured before April 2006.

Updater Firmware (Mar. 2004)

This firmware release has the following changes

  1. Allows an Updater to load console firmware into all versions of Vantage Pro. Prior to this release of Updater code a rev A Updater could only update Vantage Pro consoles manufactured prior to March 2003

NOTE: This is not Vantage Pro console firmware and should not be used to upgrade your Vantage Pro console firmware.

Required: To use this file you will need at least two Davis Firmware Updaters (Davis #6311).

Vantage Pro2 Updater Firmware

NOTE: This is not Vantage Pro2 console firmware and should not be used to upgrade your Vantage Pro2 console. This file only updates the firmware in a Vantage Pro2 Updater (Davis #6311VP2).

Version History

This February 7, 2006 firmware update has the following changes

  1. Corrects a problem that may cause the Updater to not update a Vantage Pro2 console. The Updater may show a red light and halt

The December 1, 2005 firmware release has the following changes

  1. In order for the “direct from PC firmware update” feature of the Nov, 2005 console firmware to be properly implemented, the Updater must have this latest Updater firmware in it prior to updating a VP2 console
  2. With this Updater firmware, future Updater firmware can be programmed to the Updater directly from a PC without the use of a second Updater

Required: To use this file you will need at least two Vantage Pro2 Updaters (Davis #6311VP2).

Vantage Pro Console Firmware (Spanish, 7/25/2002)

This is a version of Vantage Pro firmware that will display text in Spanish.

This zip file contains 4 files.

  1. flash.bin – Firmware release
  2. updater.exe – Program required to load firmware into the Davis Updater (Davis #6311)
  3. Vantage Console Firmware Release History.doc – details on each firmware revision
  4. vp_updater.pdf – Instructions (see Section 2: Advanced Operations)
